Goldfield and Florence Hill Trail starts just north of Gold Point Nevada. This is an easy class 1 trail that is mostly desert roads that follow along an old rail bed. It winds through the Stonewall Flat and off into the Goldfield hills. You will pass the townsite of Ralston and through the Chispa hills on the way to Goldfield. On the approach to Florence hill, old mining sites are everywhere! Photo opportunities are endless. Once in Goldfield, don’t forget to check out the cemetery and the Goldfield Hotel as well as other “ghosts” from our great past in the Wild West. One option is to continue west from the cemetery and enjoy the many trails through the Montezuma range. We will post those up soon! As always, use caution when around mining sites. Don’t drive off of the trail and be mindful of your speed.
