This is a 100+ mile loop leaving from near Gold Point Nevada and heading into the Argentite hills. It winds past several amazing mining sites before dropping into Silver Peak. This is an all day run that sees terrain vary from mountains and rocks to the dry lithium bed and some asphalt. The trail crosses the beautiful mountains of Mineral ridge and gives you a few of the desolate Clayton Valley that hosts interesting geological features such as “The Crater” and Alcatraz Island. Expect altitude variations of up to 6,000 ft on this trail! Don’t forget to stop and explore the Mohawk Mine and take in the fresh air among the trees. When doing this run, be sure to have plenty of water and even a lunch packed. All the same rules apply. Be cautious when exploring mine ruins and stay on the trail! Be sure to have Herb and the crew get dinner ready for your return to Gold Point.
